On the heels of the first Oregon Rural Congress - which was held in August in Cascade Locks and brought together concerned citizens and leaders from rural Oregon to talk about Natural Resources, Economic Development, Healthcare and Telecommunications - comes the second round. This time participants will meet at The Mill Casino and Hotel in Coos Bay/North Bend to discuss Transportation and Rural Financing. The outcome of these meetings will be a report that can be given to state and federal officials. The Congress is sponsored in part by the Eastern Oregon Rural Alliance.
Oregon Rural Action will be sending Organizer Shaun Daniel as its representative. If you would like him to consider raising a particular issue pertaining to Transportation or Rural Financing, please contact him at shaun@oregonrural.org or (541) 975-2411.
If you would also like to attend, you will need to fill out the registration form and pay the $50 registration fee by December 1st. Lodging is not included in the fee but is available at the Mill Casino and Hotel or in the surrounding area.
